You can actually dive by going near that waterfall, looking down at the water, and then jumping off. Plus, there's a secret coin room in Ghostly Galaxy. It's in the first mission; you complete the launch star, then you go to the ceiling and find a faint outline. You then ground pound that place until you fall into a library. There will be lots of mini-launch stars and an arrow ramp. Go up that arrow ramp and flip the blue switch. Ta-da, you've found the motherlode.
